We sit down with Dewi, and ask him to share a little about what he does behind the scenes at b2b.
Dewi, would you share an extract from your work day?
My working day consists of managing our clients’ hosted solutions, assisting the senior helpdesk team with complex problems, and managing our internal infrastructure. We’ve built up a huge repertoire of managed solutions such as our managed ERP, our centralized Microsoft 365 policy management platform, Azure hosting, and that’s just scratching the surface. Tailoring each solution to fit with the clients we support is quite a bit of work but in the end leaves them in a much better position with both security and functionality.
A recent workday for example had me sat with security consultants reviewing our Security baselines across the business and deployment platform, leaving us with a few things to deploy to ensure that every client has a minimum baseline of security when it comes to cloud-hosted platforms to reduce risk as much as possible. Security will always be a sector that’s pushing forward due to the ever-evolving ways that people can be breached in their daily work.
What do you enjoy about your work?
We’ve been evolving our tech stack to stay on the cutting edge of the industry, and that’s where the main bulk of my enjoyment is. I love to learn new things, and it’s even better when our clients benefit as a result of that. Even after years in the industry, most days bring something new to learn, some new problem to solve. I like a challenge, and with this industry evolving so quickly, I’m never short of challenges. The team here are great people, everyone has their own drive to want the best for the clients, It’s really nice to have a team who actually cares.

I love to hike with the family, we often go out to find a new forest path or mountain to walk up with the dogs. Holidays in the camper are my favourite part of the year. My kids are 5 and 6 so are just getting into playing video games, one of my interests, so we enjoy having a gaming session together as a family too.
